Shona Wilson is a contemporary Australian sculptor, utilizing natural found materials , bronze casting and ceramic to create both abstract and representational, 2-D assemblages and 3-D sculptures.

She currently lives and works on the NSW mid north coast and is represented by King Street Gallery on William in Sydney and Mossgreen Gallery in Melbourne - Australia.

Artist's Statement

“Nature is not the subject of my work, but the source of it” *1

The repetitive use of nature’s detritus brings me closer to understanding the world I share. Forms and structures within nature inform all man made architectures. The materials themselves are storehouses of knowledge and information. They act as ‘keys’, unlocking doors to memory, history and imagination.

 “At moments of wonder it is easy to avoid small thinking, to entertain thoughts that span the universe, that capture the thunder and the tinkle, …the near and the far.”   *2
